BITCOIN PoS

BitcoinPoS (BTCS)Bitcoin with PoS starting at block 301448

Real Bitcoin transitioned to Proof-of-Stake at block 301448. All BTCS have been mined using real BTC keys. Import your BTC key to start mining. CAUTION!!! Sending BTCS can also send your BTC after importing!

BitcoinPoS
Takes everything you know and love about Bitcoin and transitions to a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) algorithm. This makes it more decentralized and clean for the environment.

What got BitcoinPoS started?

Ethereum switched to a proof-of-stake mechanism in 2022 because it is more secure, less energy-intensive, and better for implementing new scaling solutions compared to the previous proof-of-work architecture. Now it is time for Bitcoin to migrate to proof-of-stake.

Why Proof-of-Stake starts in 2014?

We understand that some in the PoW BTC community are too stubborn to make the switch and would do anything in their power to destroy BitcoinPoS. Starting in 2014 gives the community time to mine enough coins to hold off an attack from the PoW community.

Security

Proof-of-Stake creates unsurpassed security.

More Decentralized

Proof-of-Stake creates more decentralization.

The existing BTC network is controlled by about 5 mining pools. Satoshi never intended for this to happen. Proof-of-Stake solves this issue.

Satoshi Nakamoto wants more decentralization.

The Future Failure

In 2009, Bitcoin was released with a system to reward miners to secure and verify transactions across the network. In Bitcoin, block rewards are halved roughly every 4 years. Due to the halvings, miners reach a point at which the fees generated by transactions along with the diminishing reward, are no longer profitable to keep mining. Once this happens, miners will turn off their machines and reduce the hashpower needed to protect the BTC network.

Bitcoin using Proof-of-Stake solves this problem. Keeping a wallet running on your computer is all that is needed to secure the network. BitcoinPoS (BTCS) will never have to worry about the cost to mine to keep the network secure.
